Dear Mr. and Mrs. Spencer and the servants of the Lord in His church, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank the Lord.
Since the beginning of this year 2005 until now, the Lord has been with our church and has filled us with much joy and peace. How are both of you doing? Well, I hope. How about your church? I hope everything is well and joyful.
About us here in Vietnam, we had a 4 day meeting of prayer and worship (in Saigon). In attendance at that meeting were Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stebbins; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Norris Nanfelt, the head of Evangelic Gospel United; and Pastor and Mrs. Nguyen Anh Tai of the Vietnamese Christian church in the Unites States. They all taught the Word of God to us at the meeting. I wish you were here to rejoice with us Mr. and Mrs. Spencer and the people in your church that have a heart and concern for the work of the Lord in our church in Binh Chau.
I thank God the past 2 months we have begun the first steps of His work in Binh Chau. The first decision was choosing the right people to go to Binh Chau. God has blessed us with 3 people: Mr. Tam, who lives in Binh Chau, and Lam and Mai, a husband and wife from my church in Ba To who. are willing to. go to Binh Chau. Lam will teach the weekly adult bible study and his wife, Mai, will teach the weekly children’s bible study, Tam and Lam will share the worship service on Sunday.
In the children’s bible study, we have some who are believers and some who are not. They are in the stage where we have to get them warmed up. Please pray that god will work in their hearts to strengthen them to come together full of zealous and faithfulness to Him.
As for the financial support your church is giving us, I pay the people who are going to Binh Chau to teach 1,500,000 Vietnamese or $100 US dollars each month. The other $100 US dollars I help the servants of God in 3 other small towns. I give Elder Dong, Elder Minh, and Mr. Quang each 250,000 Vietnamese or $16 US dollars each month to help support their work in these 3 towns. I use 750,000 Vietnamese or $48 US dollars each month for mercy ministry for the churches I oversee, and I pay a translator 100,000 Vietnamese or $5 US dollars each month for their work.
This is all have I done for the church in Binh Chau and the church in Ba To. If anything I do is not pleasing to you and your church, please let me know so I can improve on it. Please pray for God’s work in Binh Chau. I thank you Mr. and Mrs. Spencer and your church for praying for us and supporting us.
